Cylce Cross in Cache Valley

September 28, 2010

Looking for a new sport to spice up your fall in Cache Valley? We’ve got one for you to try!!

The season has already begun for many and a few of the local racers from Cache Valley already have some races under their belts.  The Utah series officially starts next Saturday, Oct. 2nd.  Many from the Joyride crew are planning a pilgrimage to Victor, ID for Moosecross on the 2nd as well. I heard it was a great time last year and a great way to go gently into the CX pool. Join us for that if you can.

Practices are in full swing and happening on Tuesdays at 6:00pm at the Cache County Fairgrounds, last about an hour long and it is a great way to have a fun workout.

Joy Ride Bikes has their largest CX team roster ever at 23 racers and growing! There new skinsuits have also arrived, are looking sharp and are just begging to get dirty.

If anyone is looking for a fun new sport here in Cache Valley, try this one on for size!!  “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.” ~Coach Greg Glassman, CrossFit Founder and CEO (Courtesy of CrossFit Inc.)

Thanks for posting Paul, ‘cross is so much fun! I would argue that these are the most entertaining and exciting cycling events to be a part of.
